Maison natale Charles de Gaulle

Charles de Gaulle was born on november 22nd 1890 in this house, which is listed as a Historic Monument. Now a museum, it recreates the atmosphere of a typical late 19th century home of the northern French industrial middle classes. The exhibited family keepsakes and personal objects are a reminder of de Gaulle’s younger days. A multimedia centre also looks back over the great statesman’s historic work. Audioguide included. Open Wednesday to Saturday from 10 am to 12 o'clock from 2 pm to 5 pm, Sunday from 1:30 am to 5 pm. Closed Monday, Tuesday, 01/01, 01/05, 1st weekend of September (Braderie) and 25/12.
